Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:- The Candidate must have passed SSC / Matriculation / 10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% mark in aggregate from recognized Board and must have passed ITI in relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT recognized by Government of India. More details in the Notification.
Age Limit:-
Candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as on January/11/2024. Upper age limit relaxations applicable.
Application Fee:-
The application fee amounts Rs 100 only, and it should be submitted through online mode as an integral part of online application procedure. However, applicants falling under the categories of SC/ST/PwBD/Women are exempted from paying any application fees. RRC will not entertain application fees in the form of cash, money order, cheque, IPO, demand Dreft, central recruitment fee stamp, etc.
Salary / Pay scale
- Stipend: Throughout the apprenticeship tenure, apprentices can anticipate a stipend in the range of Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 14,800 per month. The specific amount will be determined by the trade/discipline and the apprentice’s year of apprenticeship.
- Post-apprenticeship:- Upon the successful conclusion of the apprenticeship, apprentices have the opportunity to be absorbed into the Indian Railways as permanent employees. The initial salary in such cases will be contingent upon the particular trade/discipline and educational qualifications. However, it is anticipated to fall within the bracket of Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 35,000 per month.
Selection Process
The Recruitment process will not include a written test. Instead, candidates will be selected based on a merit list. This list will be prepared by averaging the percentage marks obtained by the candidate in both Matriculation/SSC/Class 10 (with a minimum of 50 percent aggregate marks) and the ITI examination. Equal weightage will be assigned to both components in the merit calculation.
